Our Vision & Philosophy

Our Vision

To us family is everything and we welcome you and your child into the Creative Cubs whānau.

Our vision is to provide an environment where children, families and teachers come together as a community of learners to achieve high quality care and education.

Our Philosophy

At Creative Cubs Whanaungatanga is at the heart of who we are.

Whanaungatanga, (relationships), with family, whanau, and community are integral to building and maintaining a reciprocal approach to growing our Tamariki.

We value a combination of child-led and intentional teacher-led experiences to enhance children’s development across all areas.  Our wish is for all Tamariki to be actively involved in their own learning which will set them up to become competent, independent and capable future citizens of Aotearoa.

We aim to provide a calm and nurturing nature-based environment with enriched learning spaces that promote collaboration and creativity, whilst also providing additional opportunities and challenges that promote problem solving and active thinking skills.

We strive to offer Kaitiakitanga, (guardianship of the natural environment), through opportunities to explore and learn in our natural environment in the centre and local community.

Te Whāriki, Te tiriti o Waitangi and Reggio Emelia influences our bi-cultural and multi-cultural curriculum.  We believe that this holds the promise that all children will be empowered to learn with and alongside others by engaging in experiences that have meaning for them. Whilst celebrating our diversity cultures and showing Manakitanga towards the needs of our Tamaiki, their whānau and our community.

We value respectful and inclusive practices where Tamariki and kaiako are seen as unique individuals that learn and grow together.
